Chain Letters

I am sure everyone has gotten at least 1 chain letter in their lifetime. Now we get it through our mail and its always the same thing... "Please forward to 15 people or ..... will happen". Have you ever forwarded those messages? Usually it either promises a bright future for your life or something good to happen or it will curse you.

When I was younger, I used to forward those emails "just to be safe" but as I got older, I realised that it didn't really matter whether I sent those emails or not... everything will still be the same..

And then came along Christian chain letters which claim that you have to forward them to 5,10,15 people to show that you love God and they would write it in a way that if you didn't forward the message you would not be a "good" christian.

I just have to say that I really hate those kind of chain letters. I don't believe that we have to send an email to show we love God. If we really want to show how good we are we should be going out there and helping the poor people on the street. Don't you think it would be much better to help someone in need instead of forwarding a stupid email that everyone else can do? That doesn't prove anything. It just shows that we are so used to the idea of chain letters that we HAVE to send it even if its nothing.

I have to add a disclaimer note that I do enjoy reading some of the emails I receive coz some of them are actually good but please do not expect me to forward it to other people in hopes that it will "help" a child get more money. Ever got one of those??? Do you think its real??? I still don't know but I don't think it will help much by forwarding the email. Who is going to pay the child??? Why not just call the girl up and let her know you want to send her money?? Is it because we are trying to do "charity" without actually "doing" anything???

Just my two cents worth.

Back To Work

It's Monday and it's back to work for me. I have been under quarantine for a week ever since I got back from Bangkok, Thailand.

Thailand was awesome by the way. And don't panic. I did not get H1N1.. My boss was just being extra careful about not wanting me to go to work plus my dad had flu once we landed. Oh yeah.. someone in my plane got the swine flu but I guess he/she was sitting quite far from me coz I did not receive any calls from the health people.

I will upload pictures from Thailand when I have the time although I must say that there is actually very little pictures as I was too busy carrying shopping bags.. ^^

We also bought lots of stuff for Fashion Attic and you can check it out at :-http://www.fashionattic.blogspot.com

I am so happy that my high school friends are back.. We have been hanging out the past two weeks and it's a lot of fun. I really miss laughing till my tears come out. It took a lot of effort not to roll on the floor and laugh.. Will upload pictures of that too when I have the time.. Tonight the TTDI-ans will be going to One Utama for dinner. Hope everyone shows up this time. (Cheng Lye has FFK twice already.. The poor guy is just so tired after work but who can blame him.. He chose a life of an auditor)

Other than that.. I got my first paycheck! Yay me! It has been so long since I've received a paycheck I forgot how much joy it brings me.. hehe..

The Look

In an attempt to make my blog look a little more sophisticated and yet show my cheery self, I have changed the font and colours of the blog. What do you think? ;)

My Long Awaited Return.. Or not..

I just realised the last time I blogged was in April. That was months ago and I have to admit that the reason why I don't blog is because I have been busy with exams and also going out and watching lots and lots of movies..

Anyway, I am at the office now and am quite free (which is unusual) coz I finished all my work this morning. Will be going to bangkok tomorrow and I hope I can take lots of pictures and maybe I will blog about it because Bangkok is so awesome!

I have been reading a lot of blogs and now I am starting to see how addictive it can be. Its nice to know what my friends are doing with their life and also how they feel or view the world.

I was reading my cousin's blog and I wanted to laugh out loud because she wrote this really funny thing about umbrellas and their babies (you have to read it to know where the humour is) but I couldn't because I was in the office so I had to do silent laughs which ended up with me tearing up and looking like I was crying coz I was shaking from the laughter.

Its nice to be happy and have a good laugh once in a while :D

On another note, I think I enjoy working more than studying. Weird but true. And I want to start travelling again!! :) Can't wait for Bangkok.

And I also want to thank the few people who still read my blog or come to check if there are updates.. You guys rock! I shall start updating again soon.. Promise..

Gonna eat my lunch now.. BYE!

What About Life

I just watched Seven Pounds and Knowing recently and it really got me thinking about life. What is the purpose of us living? Why is it that so many people go through life without really knowing why they are doing it? Is it because we are creatures of habit just going through the motion? Or are we doing it coz everyone else is doing it?

So many people I know do not believe in an after life and don't really know why they are here. They believe they are here to live and to die. That's all. The End. But isn't it sad to think that that is all there is to life? It this is the case we all might as well not do anything and wait to die right? What's the point of studying hard and getting a job if we are not even going to bring it with us when we die? It's all so temporary.

I believe our life is just a really small part of eternity. And I also believe that there is a place we will go when we die and we will live there forever. I used to think I knew where I would end up and I was so certain about it but now I'm not really sure where I'm gonna end up at and this scares me.

Watching those movies really make me start to think about the way I am looking at things. I realised that I have strayed so far from what I used to believe in without even noticing it. I've let time slip away just like that. Once it's gone it's never going to come back. *Sigh*

No point looking at the past and regretting not doing this and that. I have to move on and change things the way they are so that it will be better.. :)

Treasure Hunt Dinner

Fashion Attic was involved in a bazaar (Pick & Grab III) two weeks ago at Hartamas Square. It started at 10am and ended at 5pm. By 3pm we were pretty much bored. Sales was good but the crowd were coming in waves so we were sitting around doing nothing most of the time. During one of the 'breaks', my mom called to ask me for a favour. She was in Malacca with my dad for a treasure hunt and one part of it is to solve riddles and brain teasers. She asked me to help her with the answers and if they won the first prize which was RM500 then she would give me RM100. I told her I would ask my friends to help and if they won, we would use the money for dinner.

Sheryl, Jo, Lindy, Kenneth and Charlie were all asked to help and some where more enthusiastic about it than others.. (that was until I told them what was at stake). After that, we were all really putting effort into it except Kenneth and Charlie who kept their cool while putting their brains to work.

Needless to say, thanks to our brains and the wonders of wifi and Lindy's Google Search skills, my parents won and dinner was set to be on Wednesday the following week.

The place chosen was Chulo. Ding ding ding! Chulo is located at Jaya One and is a restaurant/lounge place. They serve Spanish food and I must say that the food is really good.

This is what I got to look at while enjoying my meal.. So pretty..

We sat outside as there isn't a proper table to eat inside. It wasn't hot though.. (which is something considering we're in Malaysia)

The people who ended up at dinner were Me, Sheryl, Lindy, Jo and Charlie. Kenneth couldn't make it coz he was busy.. :( [I also suspect he was kinda shy.. hehe..]
Sheryl and Jo refusing to take pictures...
Me and Lindy all ready to take one..
Charlie all awkward about being the only guy there..
And so the night continued with everyone being excited about ordering. There were tons of stuff on the menu with really cool names so when we ordered we just pointed and read the description. That was also due to the fact that we couldn't pronounce most of the names.. hehe..
Here's what we ordered in the end.. (I didn't manage to take all the pictures of the food because I got carried away once they arrived and started digging in..)
Salad.. for me.. (don't worry.. it's not the only thing I ordered..I also had Fish with tomatoes and herbs)
Mushroom soup for Charlie as a starter..
And Spanish 'chicken rice' for the main course.. We all loved it but Charlie didn't like the rice.. Sheryl kept insisting that was what Spanish rice tasted like.. :D
Meatballs with potato salad for Jo..

And seafood soup for Lindy as a starter

Sheryl and Lindy both shared the seafood paella and that was probably the best dish on the table.. YUMM!
Although I am on a diet, I couldn't help but steal some rice. Needless to say, I put on weight when I went on the scale the next day. Hehe.. It was SO worth it!
After dinner, me and Charlie went for a movie at Cineleisure and after movie, we decided to have supper. Partly because I was hungry, mostly because I was greedy. (at least I'm honest.. )

I love lok-lok. And this was the first time I was trying it in SS2.

The cool thing was the fact that there is also a BBQ section on this lok-lok van.. Looks delicious doesn't it? ;)
In the end, we barbequed taiwan sausage, pork and beef (I think).

It was a good and fun night for me. Thought I should blog about it since I already took the pictures. ;)

A Random Outing

I finally got my camera back.. yay!

I'll make sure this post is a long one since I haven't written in awhile.. ;)

---

Last Tuesday Charlie called me and asked if I wanted to go out for awhile...

Ally : "Where do you want to go? Where are we going?"

Charlie : "Secret. Cannot tell."
(note: this is his super famous overused line)

Normally, I would have pestered the person until I found out exactly what we were doing but in Charlie's case I didn't bother because I was used to the answer and knew nothing good would come from pestering him..

So I drove to his house at 4pm all curious with where we were going and waited for him to be done..

Charlie (when he got in 10 minuted later) : Hi... *sheepish smile* Ok! Let's go to Giant at Damansara..

Ally (thinks) : Ok.. This is random...

Anyway, when we got there.. We walked the whole of Giant looking for a place to eat and finally settled on Otak-otak Place which is this new place that serves Malaysian food.

This is a picture of the place mat. Love the soldiers. Reminds me of Risk. :)

They also use Happy Family cards as table numbers..

I was so excited when I found out that they actually placed Happy Family cards on the table to play. Of course I had to play it and Charlie was being very loud throughout the game coz it washis first time playing it. He was shouting and stuff. (I don't remember being THAT excited about Happy Family when I was young.. hehe.. ) The poor boy was probably deprived of great childhood games.. Aww...

I ordered Lemon Tea (which was too sour) and Otak-otak with egg. I didn't take a picture of it coz I was too hungry.. heh.. And I didn't really enjoy my meal coz it was all super sour. The place is nice though.

Funky lights... Oooo..

Charlie ordered a Tea Set which came with kaya toast, two half boiled eggs, coffee and biscuit. Traditional.. I like.. :)

There were also checkers on the table. Of course, we decided to play. I was red, Charlie was black.. The bet was that the winner would buy the loser lunch..

Charlie : I'm gonna win!

Ally : I don't think so..

10 mins later...

Muahahaha.. Need I say more??

The loser..

All of a sudden, he walked to the counter to pay for the bill...

Ally (thinks) : Now I know why he was smiling when he lost.. Cheater..

After that, we went to check out handphones coz I am looking for a new one.. Any suggestions people??

And of course since we were at Giant, we HAD to go to the supermarket to shop..

Anlene yogurt and Special K cereals rock!

By the time we finished everything it was 7pm and I was happy.. Just like the feeling you get when you see this rainbow necklace.. (Sheryl has the same one too.. It was her idea and I am loving it.. )

xoxo
